Music in the 20th Century

As Music in the 20th Century was surely my most ambitious book so far, it was gratifying to see that it was also extremely well received. And is now widely read in music schools, conservatories and universities. But its main purpose was of course arousing a desire to listen to lots of unjustly overlooked or forgotten music. If informative literature on music does not result in better, more extensive and more rewarding listening, it is a waste of both time, money and ink!
